Be the Catalyst. The Campaign for the Future of Healthcare in Tennessee.

Be The Catalyst

The doctor who saves your life may not exist yet.

Across Tennessee and right here in Memphis, a student is deciding where to build their future. A patient is waiting for a physician who understands their community. A family is driving farther than they should for care that should exist closer to home.

More healthcare professionals are educated here than anywhere else in Tennessee—and among the most in the nation. Who we train and how we train them will shape all our futures. It’s likely the doctors, dentists, pharmacists, nurses, and physician assistants caring for your own family started here.

Our Vision

A Home Worthy of the Mission

A home for the College of Medicine that meets this moment—one that elevates how we train physicians and serves as a catalyst for better health outcomes and long-term economic vitality across Tennessee.

Our Goal

1,450 New Healthcare Professionals in Five Years

Tennessee has committed $311 million. We’re raising the final $50 million—$361 million in all—to open a building that trains nearly half the state’s projected physician gap by 2035.

The Building

A new College of Medicine Interdisciplinary Building—built to train more physicians, equipped with the technology modern medicine demands, and designed for long-term impact. $361 million. 300,000 square feet. Seven stories at the corner of Madison Avenue and Dudley Street, in the heart of the Memphis Medical District.

Leadership

Tennessee has acted. Now Memphis is being asked to show up—and a group of dedicated community leaders has stepped forward to help lead the way.

Meet Leadership

Impact

This building means 1,450 new physicians and physician assistants trained in Tennessee in the first five years alone—nearly half the state’s projected shortfall by 2035. It means students who no longer compete for space in facilities built in the 1960s, and patients across Memphis and Tennessee who no longer have to drive farther than they should for care that should exist closer to home.

It means Memphis showing the state—and the region—that we are a catalyst that can be counted on.
